"For those beginning their academic careers in Ag Econ, in addition to developing good study habits, I recommend they become involved in an Ag College student organization or club, specifically the Agribusiness Club. One of my more memorable times while a student was the Agribusiness Club trip to Washington, DC. The van driver was Dr. Skees. I made a miserable attempt to read a map (back in the days before Mapquest) while negotiating the DC traffic. Thirty years later some of the professors and fellow students that made that trip are still friends working together on a professional basis or visiting at social events like Roundup."
