Minor in Agricultural Economics

Minor in Agricultural Economics

Minor in Agricultural Economics

Many students find that a minor in agricultural economics is extremely beneficial to learn the business skills needed in today's job market and complements many majors very well. Since several majors within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, include a business-oriented track which includes agricultural economics courses, many students are able to complete our minor with very little extra course work.

Students pursuing a minor in our department complete three credit hours of a preprofessional requirement course and select two courses from the following:

AEC 302 Agricultural Management Principles ....................................... 4
AEC 303 Microeconomic Concepts in Agricultural Economics .............. 3
AEC 305 Food and Agricultural Marketing Principles ............................ 3

Preprofessional Requirement
ECO 201 Principles of Economics I ....................................................... 3

In addition, students should select nine hours from other agricultural economics courses. A maximum of three credit hours from AEC 312, 313, 314, 315, or 341 may be credited to the minor. AEC 399 may not be included.
