Q: Why did you choose UK?
A: I grew up going to UK basketball and football games, and I’ve been here countless times for 4-H and FFA events. So when I came for my college visit, it’s hard to describe, but I instantly felt that this was where I belonged. I just knew this would be home for the next three years.
Q: What led you to choosing Ag Econ as your major?
A: For one, it is such a diverse degree that you can really do whatever you would like with it. Secondly, it piqued my interest looking at how the financial and management practices affect agriculture and our farmers. My hope is that I can take this knowledge and be able to help farmers and businesses that may be struggling with those principles.
Q: Did your background in 4H influence your college decision?
A: It 100% influenced my college decision. Not only did 4-H set a foundation for me, but over the years it allowed me to develop the confidence and courage to attend college at all.
Q: What have you enjoyed so far in school?
A: Making new connections and friends with individuals throughout the college and various clubs, and attending networking opportunities for potential careers in the future.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about the Ag Econ program?
A: My favorite thing about the AG Econ program would be the professors, and other individuals that help coordinate the program. One thing about this program is that everyone wants to see you succeed and is always willing to help you do so.
Q: Do you have any advice for incoming freshmen?
A: To incoming freshmen, I would recommend saying yes to every opportunity that is presented to you, because that could open countless doors in the future.
Q: What are you looking forward to during the remainder of your time at UK?
A: I am most looking forward to seeing how I can make an impact in the MG-CAFE and again just experiencing all the opportunities that will be presented along the way.
