Make a Difference

There are several creative options for giving to our department. Opportunities range from annual cash gifts, which cover yearly operating expenses, to endowments that have the potential to augment our mission in perpetuity. Real estate, life insurance policies and securities are among other imaginative ways to make an impact.

Agricultural Economics Enrichment Fund

Gifts to the Agriculture Economics Enrichment Fund can supplement existing operating budgets or provide revenue that can be directed toward current opportunities such as scholarships, faculty and unrestricted support for the Department of Agricultural Economics. Your valuable support allows the department to be flexible and responsive, and demonstrate the truth, that there is power in numbers.

AEC Student Opportunity Fund

Not all learning occurs in a classroom. Our department understands the importance of supplementing classroom learning with real-world professional development experiences. Yet many students face financial challenges that limit their ability to engage in internships, education abroad, or other professional development opportunities.

The Agricultural Economics (AEC) Student Opportunity Fund supports student engagement in experiences that apply their classroom learning, enhance their global awareness, develop their professional skills, and better position them to transition into a successful career.

Since my trip to Argentina, I have been able to apply what I learned to classes I am currently enrolled in and contribute to the conversation from a new perspective. A trip like this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it was made possible through receiving funds from the Undergraduate Opportunity Fund. Without the funding provided from donors, this trip could not have happened.

The Opportunity Fund's help with my travel costs (quite literally) got me to London and back, and now that I have returned I know I will carry these experiences with me for a lifetime.

Thanks to the Opportunity Fund, I could fully experience the work rather than worrying about money. I learned how to budget and allocate funds and it allowed me to take opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise. I also look forward to the day I am able to ‘pay it forward.’

Brannon International Fund

The Brannon International Fund is designed to provide agricultural economics undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff with the resources to pursue opportunities to experience and explore the world by allowing them to travel and explore different countries, cultures, and people to develop and foster international relationships, enhance research, create curriculum, and encourage participation in extension and education abroad opportunities.

Undergraduate and graduate students are able to expand worldviews and further develop an understanding of the cultural, economic, and political complexities of the world. The award will also provide the opportunity to gain a better understanding of different cultures, build relationships with people in other countries, and gain a deeper understanding of the global community. The experience will allow students to develop their skills in communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking, while providing them with an opportunity to explore their personal and professional interests.
